Kosh
Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Kosh is a personal finance tracker that runs entirely on your Android phone. This page explains what it does with your data. The short version: your data stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
What Kosh reads
- SMS messages (with your permission) to find bank and card transaction alerts, balances and card bills. Messages from people and other senders are ignored.
- What you enter: accounts, balances, budgets, goals and investments.
Where your data is stored
Everything is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. Kosh has no servers, no user accounts and no analytics. Kosh's data is excluded from Android cloud backup, so it is not copied to Google Drive.
Network access
Kosh uses the internet only to fetch public NPS fund prices (NAVs) if you track NPS by scheme. No personal or financial data is included in those requests.
Backups
You can export a backup file yourself. It is encrypted with a password you choose (AES-256-GCM), and you decide where it is saved.
Security
You can lock the app with your fingerprint, face or device PIN, and turn on privacy mode to hide all amounts.
Deleting your data
Use Settings → Erase all data, or uninstall the app. Both remove everything Kosh stored on your phone.
